Ah, the one that got away. I had designed this cover for Cave Canem VIII, an anthology for the poetry organization of the same name. The design was a play on the organization’s logo (which you can see on the left side) and actually incorporates an x-ray of my own dog, Hendrix, who had gotten into an accident. I designed the interiors and covers for five of their 10 anthologies and this was by far my favorite cover. Unfortunately, they didn’t care for it (thus, the unfinished spine is just a black stripe). Here it is, four years later, unveiled at last.

Hendrix is fine now.
